In the view of enormously alarming emergency situation due to natural disasters, PDMA a leading organization, vows to strive at its best with its utmost ability towards the human survival and life restoration. We actively strive to pursue ways to keep you informed of our activities. Our website is serving one of such ways.

The commencement and establishment of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) can be traced back to the time when under National Disaster Management Ordinance (NDMO) 2006, legal and institutional arrangements for disaster management at federal, provincial and district levels were orchestrated, resulting in formation of NDMA,PDMAs and DDMUs respectively. However in 2011 NDMO was transformed into an Act, along with the creation of District Disaster Management Units (DDMUs), in order to facilitate PDMAs work further with better results.

With the establishment of Provincial Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Settlement Authority (PaRRSA) as an autonomous and independent body in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the eventuality of economic, social and environmental sustainability has become more promising.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our members of PDMA/PaRRSA and concerned line departments, for their sheer interest and generous support, enabling us in becoming a successful organization.

I see PDMA/PaRRSA excelling in a gradual continuity, with an eventuality of increased efficiency. With the extended exchange of thoughts over contingency plans of various line departments and donor agencies; and modifying already existing contingency plan. it is hoped that there will be further enhancement in building its capacity.

I would like to recall the far-stretched disaster crises at the onset of floods in 2010 and the dauntless efforts put forward by PDMA. Despite the intensifying floods, PDMA’s capacity and its cooperation with the line departments in the rescue and relief operations had been greatly commendable. Further to this, its contributions towards reconstruction and settlement along with PaRRSA, for the dislocated masses in Malakand, had been magnificent. Its altogether efforts towards agriculture, livestock, livelihood, life restoration have been applauding.

PDMA strongly believes that our vision “to achieve sustainable social, economic and environmental development through reducing risks and vulnerabilities, particularly those of the poor and marginalized groups and by effectively responding to and recovering from all types of disaster events” would only be attainable when all stakeholders stay connected and work collectively. We value our stakeholders’ suggestions and keep them updated of our activities via meetings, conferences etc.

From the day of its inception, PDMA/PaRRSA is committed to trigger prompt responses to disasters and to facilitate other Humanitarian Organizations. In the view of its commitments, it is believed to have been successful and is in continuity of excelling further.
